Saturn Vue Green LineGeneral Motors corporation representatives stated at Los Angeles motor show that the company plans to put Saturn Vue Green Line concept car in production. This car has a hybrid drive that can allow decreasing fuel consumption significantly especially if compared with any other SUV car produced today (the level of emission will be twice as low as it is estimated). This SUV model is planned to feature improved two-mode hybrid drive, Li-Ion battery, high-performance electronics and capacious electric engines, which will assure tangible fuel economy. The models with plug-in hybrid drivetrain can assure long-distance travel using electric drive's energy only. What is more, their batteries are of increased capacity and they can be recharged with the help of external energy supplies. Saturn Vue Green Line with plug-in hybrid drive can do over 16 km consuming only electric drive's energy, however at high speeds or at sharp acceleration an internal-combustion engine is linked up while an electric motor can be shut off. Saturn Vue Green Line (SUV) will be provided with Li-Ion battery, two internal electric engines with permanent magnets, and with a 3.6-liter direct-injection gasoline V6 engine produced by General Motors. Concerning the production model: when being discharged Li-Ion battery will be recharged by two-mode hybrid system's electric engines or thanks to the regenerative braking. The battery can be recharged with the help of 110 volt domestic electric network when the automobile is at the parking lot. This automobile boasts of two riding modes: one for the city and one for the out-of-town roads. What is more, it also has four fixed gear ratios to assure effective high speed driving. Saturn Vue Green Line concept car that features a restyled hybrid drive is just a part of General Motors' great plan as the company plans to offer a range of hybrid automobiles at different prices for the customer to choose. The first two-mode hybrid system for the front-wheel drive that wouldn't be a plug-in one is planed in 2008.fabia |
